Default Fustrated Bleeder

Bled clutch - 1.5 Hours and 1.5 Quarts

No clutch disengagement

Changed to new Master Cylinder.....

Bled clutch - 1.5 Hours and 1.5 Quarts

No clutch disengagement

Still cannot shift into any gear!

Read the sticky's....there has to be a real consistant way to cure this problem out there somewhere..

Was this a new clutch install, or a pedal that just suddenly went away?
A pressure bleeder works well in these situations. How does the pedal feel now? Lots of freeplay/mushy?

This was a combo that I bought and I'm trying it as is.

There was no clutch action to begin with, so I thought bleeding it would fix it.

Not sure what "pressure bleeding" would do differently, then what I've done with the volumn of fluid. I've tilted the car and vibrated the master cylinder, all to no avail.

Pedal stops short of the floorboard, ~1" travel of piston, with constant pressure.

That I did not do.

But with both old and new M/C showing same symptons I was not leaning that way( especially after all the pumping & fluid through the system) I would think there should be some change in the pedal feel........

I was going to say if you're putting that much time and effort into it, you should bench bleed the master to make sure. You can't go wrong with the bench bleed and then you should know for sure whether it's a hydraulic or clutch issue (unless something is screwed up with the slave, but you need to pull the trans regardless of whether it's a slave or clutch assemly issue).

Haven't found a mity vac yet so I rigged up a vacuum cleaner with a rubber flat stock piece with a small hole drilled in it to limit it.....didn't do anything.
There is no inspection plate on this engine, so I stuck my stethescope probe in the bleeder hole( I have a hole drilled in the trans tunnel) and pushed the clutch pedal in & out a couple of times and heard nothing from inside the bellhousing....
Dropped the tranny last night, but ran out of time....

Is the stock pressure plate('99 T/A) supposed to be yellow?

Textralia is the only one I know for sure that has a yellow pressure plate. I'm pretty sure my stocker was the standard dark brown/black/rust color after 53,000 miles. I would imagine it was silver??? when it first was put it.

I pulled the slave out last night....would have thought that there would still be pressure in it and that I couldn't / shouldn't be able to compress it with my hands....

See if the clutch pedal will move when depressed by hand now that the slave is diconnected. the check valve at the end of the line w/ it disconnected should seal it.
The pedal shouldn't move. If it does it's the master.

No, the clutch pedal is fine, it doesn't budge!

But the slave is also check valved...isn't it? The slave part does compress .

I'm having similar problems since I installed my new clutch last night. the clutch was stiffer than hell when I tried to press the clutch in to start the car, but as soon as the car started up I heard a POP, and then no clutch pressure at all. The clutch just free-moves right now, and I am leaking down from the clutch release cylinder...? and my reservior was bone dry. It looks like its formed a leak at the release cylinder on the tranny, so I will have to take it off and check it/replace it.
