Can u increase wot timing on a Z06 after a "big cam" install
I know that with the stock cam increasing wot timing is of no benefit. I was wondering though that if u install a big cam with more overlap which (reduces compression) say in the 226 and up range can u now increase wot timing by a few degrees? This would only be directed to the Z06-as they only run 22 degrees wot due to the design of the combustion chamber.

I've tuned about 30 '01-03 Z06s and with proper tuning can handle 26-28 degrees at PE/WOT with no knock/ping issues.
Some were done 1 1/2 years ago and I know the owners and have no problems and many of them drive the cars hard.
My 372 stroker has 11.3.1 compression and it also has no problems with that timing.

Is the goal still to have as much timing as possible before pinging on the LS6 heads? I've just seen comments that they don't require as much timing.
