turn signal/running light issue
The front left running light and turn signal do not work. When the lights are turned on, or i click the lock unlock button on the remote it lights correctctly, just not in DRL mode or blinker. I changed the bulb and no dice. Maybe a new socket?

yes. If I turn on the headlights they both come on. If I click the lock button they flash. When the car is running with the headlights OFF the left one wont come on. And it will not flash with the blinker.

I bought mine through my local dealer so I would have a warranty on them if the died again. The bulb socket part number is 88986416 list $39.76 each(CAMARO)and part #12159662 list $64.65 each(TRANS AM) The Trans Am unit is a 3 way female with leads. This socket has the leads on it too. The price has gone up a bit since I did mine. The part number 12159662 will also work with standard Pontiac Firebird and FORMULA models. The Trans Am lamps are different(daytime lamps).

Does the blinker work when your headlights are on? If not, then it could be the socket or the DRL module. If so, it is most likely the DRL module.
There are two filaments in the bulb. One is lit when the headlights/parking lights come on and the other is lit through the DRL/blinker circuit.

The scorch marks in the socket are normal - they all have them. My sockets have been scorched for the last 7 years and I haven't had any issues. That being said, they obviously do take a beating and they are known to go bad. (and are less expensive than a new DRL module)
