Default valve spring swap

i have been doing my cam swap and im changing the springs and im having problems with the keepers not letting go of the valves as i compress them, its wanting to open the valves, i am using air to hold the valves up. i have to compress them and hit the retainers to get them to release, and some of them are being a b*tch. anyone have any suggestions or tricks to get them to release eaiser. i am using the crane tool also if you need to know.

Hit them with a rubber mallet before you put the tool on.

put some magnetic retrievers on those keys or you'll never see them again.

try a socket that fits over the valve stem tip, and rests on the retainer. whack w/ mallet.
