Default Short Block question

I dont know if this is in the right section but, I'll ask anyway. Since the LS engine came from the factory with the infamous "piston slap" I was wondering if GM has fixed the problem; as in do any crate LS short block from any dealers or sponsors have "piston slap" issues. Just wondering if anybody with an aftermarket 346 shortblock had any issues with "piston slap"?

I believe the "piston slap" was fixed with the ls2. As far as aftermarket ls1s I am unsure

It's anoying but doesn't really hurt anything. My 99 Z71 (5.3) has had it since I bought it and still going stong at 176K. It uses a little oil but no more now than when I bought it in 02.
