Do ABS blocks have to be programmed?

New modules have to be encoded after installation. It's best to have the dealer install it, since it doesn't cost that much.

For swapping out the unit and doing the encoding, I charged an hour even. The final cost depends on the dealer's door labor rate, which these days is anwhere from $65-$85 and up depending on the area. My old dealership charges $135 per hour now.
