Default Z06 Cam, milled heads, stock pushrods?

I am about to have a Z06 cam installed from a `03 Z06, as well as have the heads shaved about .030". Will I be ok using the stock pushrods? I would think with the Z06 cam`s smaller base circle, and taking that much off the heads, it should come close to equalling out. Or do I still need to go with a longer pushrod?
Thanks

most likely.
the `03 ZO6 cam is not worth the hassle,
unless you got it for free.

Yeah that post was really hepful.

Anyways, the base circle of the z06 cam is 0.050" smaller than the normal LS1 cam so usually you use a 0.050" longer pushrod. Some people re use the stock push rod. With the shave, you are somewhere in the middle here. I would use the stock length ones and it should be ok.

And just for the record there are a a lot of auto guys running the 02,03,04 z06 cam and making good power.

Thanks 2 fast. I am not sure what is up with Mike, but I know someone in particular who was running 11`s with the stock heads with this cam.

no prob. I defend this cam because I just finished the install of the 02 zo6 cam in my car about a week ago. Haven't got her fired up yet but should be interesting. Its a was a relativey stock a4 3.23 reared 2002 Z.

Everyone chooses a cam based on the research they have done and what they think will work for them. I chose it because of the mild manners and decent power gains people are seeing with it.

Orginally with a lid, predator tune and loudmouth exhaust it went 13.0 @ 108. ( that was with a 2.0 60' time on the original Goodyear RS-As)

I am adding the z06 cam, ls6 springs, SLP pulley, Pacesetter LT with catted Y and Yank 3200 stall all at once. I'll post results as soon as I have them.

Yeah, I would be interested to hear how you do. The person I was talking about had almost the exact same setup as you, just with 1.8 rocker arms, 4.10s, and a M6 instead of the auto. From memory, he hit 11.9 at 116mph or 117mph.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if the base circle is .050 smaller, then the pushrod should be .025 longer not .050. Think if you measured from the center of a circle to the outter edge, to be .050 smaller that would be .025 in each direction from the center. If that is true, then a .030 mill would put you real close to the right angle. Hopes this helps. I studdied on this very problem with my ASA cam which has the same base circle.
