Default Help!!!!! Lq4 243 Cam Choice!

Hi everyone, im putting together a lq4 6.0L stock short block, with the dished pistons, and i just got a set of the 243 ls6 heads. I am using the ls6 complete manifold off a 02, and using long tubes, this is all going into a older camaro. This car is planned to be a daily driver capable of travelling and will be using a/c. I hear these engines are capable of 400whp easy, so what would be a good cam to put in and with what stall converter(4l60e). Thanks for the support.

that would be a very mild setup. ive seen similar ones putting down around 430ish i believe. i would go with a larger cam unless of course this is your DD. im planning a 6.0 build, and am most likely going with a tsp 233/239. hope this helps some

Since this will nto be a track only car, and used mainly as a driver and for trips, I would suggest to avoid cams over 230 duration. Having said that, a 224 would be ideal with that setup. It will easily put down 400rwhp. The converter I would recommend for a daily would be a 3000 stall with about a 2.2 STR. Anything bigger will be a pain to drive, and anythign smaller will not be worth the price.

I think that would be a real responsive car that wouldn't be a pain in the *** everytime you turn on your AC.

I will be doing a similar swap/build most likely with an LQ4 and want to retain the stock heads for costs reasons, but with a 5 speed manual...
