Default 228 duration cam decisions

So ive been looking into getting a cam for a few months now and at first I was just gonna go with the TR224 but it sems a lot of people always end up going bigger. With that said I started reading more posts, results, etc and decided the F13 would work and give me the results I want. I just recently decided the F13 might be a lil too big for me so Ive decided to go somewhere between the 224 & F13 like a 228 cam, heres what Ive been looking at so far:

Texas Speeds 228R- 228"/228" .588"/.588" 114LSA

Futral Motorsports F10 - 228"/228" .576"/.576" 114LSA

Comp Cams SI4 - 228"/228" .588"/.588" 113LSA

Any comments or suggestions are welcome, Thx

I just installed a custom 228/228 cam in my L98 motor and I'm surprised how well it idles. I currently have the idle set at 800rpm. Drivability is also very good. I do have a Yank SS3600 torque converter so that may tame it some. From what I now know I would not hesitate to put in a 228/228 cam.

they should all make close to the same power. when it comes to 228 cams the TSP 228r is a popular choice. why not look into the MTI X1 230/227 or TR230?

If I go with a 230 type cam im definately going with the F13, my main concern with that cam is that it will kill my torque in the lower rpms and be very noticeable.

I really like my 228/230 cam. It doesn't have as much lift as those you listed but it makes great power and with a good tune the drivability is great.
