A TC76 would be MUCH faster spooling then a S400....by almost 500-700rpms. Also the size would be alot easier to package.

And with a 600-650 target, the T76 will fit the bill just fine.

Really interested on this also cause I have a plan of putting one S400 1.10 a/r on my LS1 (5.7) and take out max 750 fwhp. These T6 1.10 a/rs have very small turbine wheel, exducer about the same 75mm than the comp inducer, so on 6.0 it might be a restriction? On the other hand I bought mine from expert that recommemded this turbo for my earlier project which had stockish 360 mopar (max rpms 6500). It seems that there aren't any experiences about this, so we just have to try and learn..?

there are tons and tons of people using s400's they just usually don't post on here because they get told how much better off they would be with something else..

try theturboforums.com out.. guys are going 1000+ RWHP on small blocks with s400's

and for 550bucks.. its hard to beat..

food for thought, my buddy ran a 1.32 S400 on his 300 inch mod motor (mustang cobra) and it hit full spool around 4000 rpm and the car made just over 700hp to the tire on a mustang dyno and ~24'ish psi iirc.

They work well, and yes you will find a lot more info on S400's on the turboforums/turbomustangs.com

Yes I know that there are several users of S400 with 1.32 turbine and those rock because they are mainly strip only vehicles.

Question is, can we really get streetable manners (~2500rpm spool) out of that 1.10 turbine?

yes ,thats what i thinking some streetable manners with spool time around 2500rpm out of the S400 1.1ar turbine... theirs guy on PT.net with a S400 turbo with his 408 engine and he says its to small for his egine that he need a 91mm turbo. So i guess it will work with my 370ci. engine and spool around 2800rpm. and yes this turbos have real good prices and hard to beat...and also they do make T4 turbine housings for a extra $150 bucks.....
