Default Best Supercharger?

I have a 99 Camaro Z28 and i have a lot of plans for it including supercharging it eventually. I was wondering in your opinion what is the best type of supercharger to go with? Centrifugal, Roots, or Screw? I was looking at the Magnacharger MP112 Hybrid Roots but i read on Wikipedia that a roots supercharger is only 40-50% efficient and a centrifugal supercharger is 70-80% efficient. In the end I wanna be able to kick my buddy and his 300ZX with twin turbo (upgraded) in the *** no problem other suggestions on that topic too are welcome. (or should i go with a turbo? supercharger sounds more fun from what ive heard)

Anyone who's been in a supercharged AND turboed cars will say that turbo is the way to go AND way more fun, BUT also WAAY more expensive. Anyways, I'd say be unique and go with the roots blower. Super badass, power at any rpm. I believe magnuson sells one, whipple too possibly

Well if his goal is to beat a 300zx with upgraded turbos, a maggie will not get it done. On stock turbos with boltons they will hit 400 rwhp or so and with upgraded turbos he will be beyond what a Maggie car can hang with. Get a Procharger and be done with it. The maggie will make more instant torque but the Centri will blow it away up top.

If your goal is a torquey street car get the maggie. If all out HP is your goal, procharger is the way to go. Not to mention you can upgrade head units for more power just like upgrading turbos. With the maggie you are extremely limited which is why I went with a procharger. If they made a twinscrew kit for F-bods that would be the way to go but they dont.

Not to mention that installing the Magnacharger will require a difficult fit
under the cowl somehow.

Best supercharger? For a centrifugal, definately ProCharger.
Roots blower- Whipple or Kenne Bell twin screw
Roots blower with good gas mileage while cruising- Magnacharger

I'd go turbo, but if your deadset on a SC then call Bob @ EPP. All forced induction is going to be expensive if done right. I wouldn't say one form is more expensive than another. I have around 2K in my actual kit.

+1 for procharger. they have their stuff together and put out some very large numbers.
the TQ on the maggie is appealing, but that kit has a fair amount of negatives.

Do the Magnachargers even fit under the hood on an FBODY? I know the Kenne Bell and Whipple won't. Can't go wrong with a procharger, turbos are awesome too. The thing that's the best about turbos and procharges is they are easy to upgrage. You can go bigger and bigger, their is only Magnacharger unit from what I understand and it only makes so much boost. So if you start off wanting a mild blower and then want to add boost and rebuild your motor and then you get the itch for a full blown race car......You are gonna want to upgrage your blower. You can start off with a D1SC max that out and go to an F1R. Then maybe jump to an F3 and go nuts. Can't beat the Prochargers and turbos for that.
