They will help. If you are willing to port your stockers, use that money to get some work done to the LS2 heads instead before putting them on and they will definitely be great.

Then go with a bigger intake I sent my LS6 intake off to make it a 90 and went with a 90mm TB but since you have the ls1 intake I'd go with the Weiland street manifold for the price or a FAST if you like the name better and want to spend more $$.
Then get some kind ram air kit the hood on the SS is lame for flow.
After all that you will notice a huge diffrence.

the weiand that isn't out yet will start to fall on its face around 6,000rpm's, and the fast will continue to grow. so figure out if you are goign to be in the higher rpms or around 6k and lower.

Ram air kit's are almost a waste of money. you could make one yourself for half the price.

with the cam you are runnign I would get new pushrods, valvesprings- you can get away with some 918's- chaper than going duals, ported oil pump, GM gaskets, and while you are in there change out the thermostat if you haven't doe it yet.

You will also need some tuning- looking around 500

If you are tight on money I would mill the heads to get some more compression out of them and free up some HP for cheap.

With his cam he isnt going to see much more than 6000 rpm's any way to be on the safe side their are other options than getting a fast for 800 + $$ then a TB for 500 you can save a fuew $100 on other intakes and get the same results you just have to do the reserch.
As far as a Ram air kit yeah you can make your owne and the Free ram air mod works well too just buy cutting a whole in the bottom of the air box and getting good results, but the hood just dosent work that well thats my point.

I'd call Patriot they deal with the 243 heads and they can give you the best advice out of most anyone.
