Default What does your swap weigh/run? What about mine?

I've been searching around under a few different terms and from what i can gather a 1st gen camaro with an LS1/T56 should weigh somewhere between 3000-3200lbs correct? I saw a post that someone was thinking a stock ls1/t56 directly swapped with 3.43s and 29" slicks was going to run a low 12 high 11. Is that even close to what you guys are running with your swaps? How much do you swaps weigh?

My 68 Firebird swap is almost done if my Victor JR intake would get here. I'm hoping to be right around 2900lbs or so. Just a couple front seats, some aluminum sheet metal for panels and carpet. Keeping a heater core. Alternater is my only accessory. I have a manual rack, LT1 radiator and electric fans, Moroso (i think) subframe connectors, Lakewood traction bars, 4.56 posi 8.5" rear from 74 nova, multileaf springs from 74 nova, Centerline Telstar wheels. the car was origionally an OHC 6 cylinder and has that suspension still on it. I know with the Pontiac 400/TH400 that was in it i had to have a friend lift the front end of the car about 1 1/2" to slide the jack under the K member and now i have over 4" between the same jack and my K member.

The engine is a late 2000 engine with 241 heads, upgraded rod bolts and such.
victor carbed intake with mapable MSD box
holley 650 vac secondary carb
holley 97gph electric fuel pump
new factory tank, sender, 3/8" braided SS line
236/236 .651/.651 110lsa cam (not the XER lobes)
patriot gold springs
comp cams 7.450 pushrods
Hooker headers into 3" x pipe with side exits
01 truck coils
moroso 7qt pan with 1/2" lines and PH8a remote filter
Ram clutch/flywheel
D&D T56 with 30 spline mainshaft

I'm hoping for between 400-420rwhp with this setup since there are no accessories, better intake, intake, cam, exhaust and through a manual trans. I have 26 and 28" Mickey thompson Et drag slicks i can run and the tires i'll be running on the road are some 30" tall MT Et street radials. What I'm hoping for is low 11s high 10s with a 26" slick and really would like to see maybe a foot of wheel lift on the front since i have 4.56s.

What do you all think? Am i close in my guestimations or do i have too high of hopes? Once i get the engine tuned and dynoed i'll be swapping out for some nice ported LS6 heads. I just dont wanted to waste a set of head gaskets and bolts on a engine i havent had running yet.

What kind of numbers are you all seeing for weight, hp, and 1/4 times?

From what I can tell, your weight numbers sound at least feasible... Here's a free "bump" for a cool thread...

Yeah I was wondering what would my 240sx with the LS1 plus the Auto tranny weight? I have the Canadian 240sx S13 with Hicas, ABS, VLSD, Sun Roof, but my seatbelts are still they don't slide back and fourth...

Any ideas?

3400 seems heavy? Do you have AC and full interior and all?

damn Chris haha. That's an autocross car isnt it? I think i've read it was a mid engine setup wasnt it? Do you have any pics of it? Why did you go with a GM performance intake and not something like the edelbrock victor JR or performer if you wanted lower rpm power?

yea its mid engined for trackdays and sprints, but can be made road legal. i originally ordered the edelbrock performer intake but then waited almost 6 months for it from edelbrock and they kept promising each month they were casting some stock as none were available. i ran out of patience in the end and got the GM one off the shelf from SDP in 5 days. looks very similar to the victor one anyway. ive had an issue with my fuel reg which prevented me from getting the dyno map finished, and i had to drain the tank and remove all the fuel lines /pump/filter etc to check if ok. now waiting on the programmable 6010box and then back to the dyno.

Let me know how you like that MSD box. I still havent ordered mine yet. I keep buying things that are not involved in making the engine run haha. I know once i get the engine running i am going to ignore the lack of interior and just drive it. Did that box come with a MAP sensor? I couldint find anywhere that said if it did or not.

That thing is going to fly with 400rwhp at 1800lbs. That's like a trans am having 800rwhp haha.

Haha its funny you ask that because i was wondering the same thing. I have all of my fittings and hoses laying on the fender. I was just going to crank the engine over to see which one oil was forced out of lol. I was waiting until i got my headers to run the remote mount oil filter to make sure it wasnt going to hit them anywhere.

My guess is 2650-2750.

My S14 weighed in at 2830 w/ 3/4 tank of gas, moonroof, leather, full interior, stripped trunk, T-56.

My 1935 Ford sedan weighs in at about 3300 lbs, it's an all steel car. It ran mid 13s at about 100 mph last year at Palmdale, CA (3000 ft altitude) LACR. It would have been quicker but I took the 3.70 gearset out of the nine-inch and put in the "road" gears....3.25s. The whitewall tires are a bit tricky to launch on as well.

my camaro is 3400lbs with all accesseries and a little less cam than you and it runs 11.8 @ 114 on nitto drag radials.

Shawn, is that the cam you bought off of me? It looks like it. If so they are lsk lobes. My car made 471rwhp in std mode and 461 corrected.
The car went 11.42 @ 120 with a very heavy weight, about 3700# and that was with the t-56.

I have a lot of good info about the msd 6010 box, I have one on my mustang. It does not come with a map sensor, I don't think. You need a stock one from the back of the intake on your motor.
Please read all this info in my thread, it will save you a lot of time getting the box working. A lot of people have troubles getting it figured out, me included.
This is very valuable info on the 6010 box.

PS, I want to do a first gen build in the future also. It is my dream to have a 69 camaro with a lsx motor. Pro touring ride!!!

It sure is JR haha. That's ALOT of power. Wasnt that in a stroker? With what heads? Thanks for the info man! I really appreciate it! As soon as my intake gets here the MSD box is the next thing I'm ordering. I have a 1000CCA marine battery in it now actually. I used it to start the Pontiac 400 that was in it that hadnt been started since 1982. Removed one bent pushrod after and had the engine idling at 600rpm with no problems after swappin the carb. I was also planning on running 0 gauge house wire. You would be amazed how many amps house wiring will transfer and is actually smaller.

I just lined cam up dot to dot since cam card showed 4 degrees of advance built into it so i assume that was right. What do you think i can get out of the car? You should build a pro touring 69 camaro man there is no greater feat a man can accomplish haha.
