Cam typically peaks @6400, and most folks seem to be shifting @6500.
Considering its size, it's not really that high-revving of a cam.

I have my shift light set at 6500rpm as BurnOut mentioned.

Re: G5x2 guys where do you peak/shift?
mine is set at 7K rev limit and i shift 68-6900 NA and on spray. in a few weeks i am going to try short shifting at 64-6500 just to see the effects on bottle and NA.. NA i am seeing 120-121 traps... thought i would see a few more mph. but i am not speed shifting so that is affecting it.. but i am seeing 135.xx traps on spray..

Looking at that 447rwhp dyno graph you need to be shifting higher than 6500rpm. Have you tried shifting at 7k? I imagine you would pick up a MPH or 2 and lose some ET.

My pistons were flycut at LGM motorsports since I'm running 11.2:1 compression with the 5.3L heads milled at aprox .020 (I think).

Re: G5x2 guys where do you peak/shift?
is lg a sponsor here? i dont see thier banner on the right. i went to lgmotorsports.com but didnt see any mention of the cam on there so i dont know if thats the right site. does anyone have a link? this sounds like an awesome cam but i cant seem to find it
also, has anyone broken parts on the bottom end with this cam yet and would it be a good idea to get some pistons/rods if/when (probably when) the cam goes in?

camm- so what did it do at the track?, let us know with 60ft mph and d.a. also your wieght. to me it looks like the car made 450 at 6500 and was still climbing. do you have a dyno run going past 6500. for such a big cam it makes great mid range power

01-z if your car is slow, I wish my car was as slow, its good to see you list 60ft and d.a. with your times but what is your race wieght. this g5x2 cam really runs good.
