I am very excited about this car. Its finally what Pontiac has been needing, the G6 is a joke, the G5 and Torrent are garbage. All they need now is a coupe based on the G8.

15 mpg??? How is it that GM makes less hp cars and their mpg go down, while Jap car makers are breaking the 400hp mark and their mpg continue to increase?

Nice. I was at the local auto show yesterday and they had one in red, but different wheels. Yours look much better (similar to the 18" GTO wheels). Can you give your impressions; overall quality (fit/finish), interior room (and noise level), how is the ride and of course performance (I assume TM is pretty bad on these).

A much as I like this car, I would have to do a couple of mods right away. Debadge the chrome emblems, paint the chrome trim around the windows black, drop it 1.0" and add some fatter tires.

BTW - Where are the cup holders?

Those are the 19' wheels, right? Can you post pics of the 18' wheels when you get one in?

I saw a Magnetic Grey GT, they are awesome, enough said.

Also, what are the buttons on the Steering wheel? Can you wire your cell phone into the car???

I've just seen the sticker price and I'm not the only Aussie thats going to spew about this, over here the SS Commodore starts at $47,200 for the auto and the SS-V starts at $54,700 for the auto.. Even when you look at the exchange rate you guys are getting one hell of a bargin compared to us..
Interesting to see that the colours are called different names between the 2 countries over here it's called Phantom Black Metallic

I have to see these two colors in person. I can't decide which one I want. Alas, I'll be waiting for the GXP to be released, but damn, I still can't decide between the black and the grey.

All I know is that I REALLY want one.

Because it can rev out to the moon....the theory is it is an auto it wont redline...I dunno...

Oh I know I want one. Soon very soon. Someone go out and pop that hideous engine cover off and lets see how much cowl room there is so we will know if a RD blower will fit....

Nice looking car that we should have had 20 years ago when GM switched everything to FWD. I just wonder where the final 20% of parts come from:

well I like the G8, but have always been an el camino fan..

and here we go.. they are releasing the g8 sport truck, and chevy something...

Want to explain why it's 'garbage'? It's going to be lighter, with a supposed solid rear axle.Plus, it's essentially a 2 door G8, minus weight in the back. So I'm not seeing where it's garbage to cut weight off the G8.

Those are the leather seats, however leather is part of the premium package. The sport package is the 19's (as pictured), metallic pedals, reshaped leather steering wheel, and summer-only tires. You could conceivably have a cloth seat car with the sport package, although I haven't seen one yet.

The Truck is OK.... but I don't think it would ever take place of my Silverado.

As for G8 GT.... it looks like a NICE car.....I might well consider one in white!!!!! Althought it would never replace my bird.

I agree. GM killed off the wagon version of the G8, and thinks this will be more profitable? I highly doubt that.

Yeah.... but the ST been for sale overseas under a differant label for awhile... and sells quite well....
