Default What tranny for 850hp?

Basically have a 850hp n/a motor in a 25.2 car. We have had a A1 torque converter and a TCI in a TCI and a Rossler transmission. We just cant seem to get a good run in because we either break the converter or it wont stall up high enough. The TCI converter was suppose to be a 6500 but wont stall over 4000. A1 was a 6500 and ended up having metal shavings after 5 runs. We are spinning the motor to 8600rpm. What are some of the big hp guys running?

Both transmissions were built with the best we could get, light weight etc..... Car hits hard and just unloads before the 60ft.

EDIT: This car is a drag car 100%. The TCI and Rossler trannys we have been using were a TH400

Depends on what the cars being used for if its just a weekend drag car then I would say TH400 if its a dual purpose I would suggest a 4L80E What trans are you running now ?

I'd put a power glide on your short list.

I'd talk to Yank about building a custom converter. Circle D may be able to help too.

I see you added its a 100%drag car so I would agree with ragtop Powerglide Or 400 would be all you will need.

Call me tomorrow. I have your answer.

The problem lies in the combination... we build for cars like yours very frequently.

Would the fact that we are using Big Stuff 3 make a diference?
