Default T56 gear change

Hi new to the forum so I thought i`d start with a question.

I`m running a Monaro VXR (Pontiac GTO ) 2005 and am looking to change the 6th gear ratio from 0.63 to .071 to bring the gear more into play.

Happy to have a new box if someone out there can point me in the right direction.

Have sent email`s to sixspeedsinc but no reply as yet.

I understand that the Z06 5th gear is .71 will it go in in place of the .63 6th gear?

is there a reason you want to change your 6th gear ratio?

Yeah, the car`s overgeared and 6th won`t pull well above 180mph (car`s running 635hp), and that`s no use to me as I use the car for Vmax event`s (Runway racing) so you only have a certain distance to get up to speed.

Don`t want to do 245mph (0.62)
Want to do 207mh (0.71)

Hope that makes sense.

You cannot change the gear independly, unless you respline the main shaft you have. The factory 5th and 6th gear is one piece on the mainshaft, and the splines on the mainshaft on go down enough to enguage 5th gear, as such the mainshaft would need to be resplined. Some of the Ford t56 have a 2 piece 5/6 gears.

So can you build a box for me with the right gearing, like I said, have emailed you for a quote.

Oh, thanks for the reply
