Default F-body dipstick question

I have an LS 1 from a GTO. I removed the GTO pan and replaced it with an F-body oil pan. I believe the GTO dipstick went into the pan. I have a hole in the block where the dipstick for an f-body should go (I think). It is plugged with what looks like a small softplug. Do I just punch it out and insert the dipstick tube? Should I push it on through or back out from the bottom?

Punch out the plug. You will need an LS1 dipstick. An OEM (I happen to have one handy) or the Lokar (which is pretty nice).

I have the f-body dipstick and tube. I just wanted to make sure before I punched the plug out. Thanks again.

I would punch it out from the bottom, you already have the pan off anyway.
