Default Nitto Drag Radials Cracked

I was wondering if anyone eslse had had problems with their nitto dr's cracking on the top of the outside sidewalls? The tires are only 9 months old with only about 5000 miles. I'll try to post pics later.

What size are your wheels and tires? I ask because it might not be cracking. 315/35/17 tires with lowering springs have been known to get sliced by the fender lip.

Leaving them on the car and in a garage can cause them to crack as well if they aren't getting used. If the car sits all of the time, the rubber could become cracked.

We sell Nitto tires and I have seen this issue many times. I would take pics and get in touch with someone at Nitto.

Your tires cracked because the car was probably stored in an unheated garage where it was freezing cold.

I believe the Nitto DR tire compound don't stand up to the cold temps

umm i drive my car everyday, rain or shine. And they shouldnt be cracking, they are made for racing and i dont even race it and they are cracking. That is fucked up and Nitto better do something or I will just report them to the Better Business Bureau.

don't bother getting yourself worked up.

Nitto will not do anything about it they are drag radial and not intended for street driving.

so right there they already got you.

I have had the same problem with the nittos. If another dr was available in the 315 size, and if they lasted as long and were good in the rain as the nittos i would not buy another nitto product, because they have done nothing to make this problem right for me.

Ha, this is funny, I just noticed this same thing on mine about a week ago. I was wondering what the hell did that. Now I know. I'm not too worried about it. Unless anyone knows of someone having a bad blowout or something from this?

it's not just nitto tires that do this, rubber will crack once they start drying out (losing the oils and such). Nitto will do nothing about this.
