Spec clutch shim install

ok i removed slave cylinder to install my spec shim there is a black plate with two bolt holes in it does it stay and put the shim behind it or take it out.

It sounds like you have a shim already. How thick is it? Do you have calipers to measure it in thousandths? A Ram shim is steel and .150 thick. How thick is the spec shim BTW?
