Default Procharger question

What is that spring loaded valve thing on the D1 kit? What is the purpose of it? And can the kit function with out it?

It or some other bypass needs to be in the system so it will unload the boost off throttle.

I thought it was the bypass valve. Looks similar to the link but mine is more cheesy. I would like to take that off and put a blowoff valve instead. what do you guys think? I'll sound more cool and would probly function better than the cheap $hit that is on right now.

no. you need a bypass valve not a blowoff valve.... two totally different things. just swap it and go for the mondo bypass

Would this take place of the procharger bypass valve? How would one go about installing this into the standard kit?

The black valve is a better version of the older model it replaced. I don't see any benefit to it unless your old one isn't working.
The red race valve has the capability to release more air, so for higher boosted engines it places less strain on the blower belt and the blower itself.

We have not installed any Weldon pumps that I know of. Bob

How does the race valve sound when it releases the air? Is it a swooshing sound or like a blowoff valve? Are these valves on sale?

It moves a lot of air, the sound it produces is going to depend on how much air it is releasing. You can purchase it at the link above. Bob
