Default Stock WS6 exhaust question

The muffler on my car is welded to the pipe that goes over the axle... so I thought it was flowmaster, but my car has the stock tips i believe...

are those the stock tips?

Now, was the stock ws6 exhaust WELDED to that pipe, or was it clamped?

yes those are stock tips, but you might still have a flowmaster that some one else could have put on. My 97 ws6 ta came w those tips but the muffler was clamped on. flowmaster is stamped in the case if it's one

can't remember since it's been a while since I saw the stock stuff under my car. Those tips don't look to be in aligned too well so maybe it is an aftermarket or they just got misaligned over time.

I bought one of the "take-off", stock, WS-6 mufflers that SLP was selling several years ago. The tailpipes were welded to the muffler, but clamped to the intermediate pipe. As NHRAMAN said, the OE tips were round and polished, 2.25-2.5 stainless steel.

yeah, i changed the tips over the weekend.. i got the chrome tips from autozone and clamped those bitches on. I also straightened the tips, so they are both level and straight back. it looks so much better.
Ill take a picture later

I just gotta figure out if the muffler is welded on from the factory or not...

as far as the tips, the guy clamped them on really god damn tight, and he had to use an extension kinda deal for the tips. I had to cut the pipe off with a torch he had them clamped so hard lol

Let me add this...The OE muffler that I removed from my Z-28 wasn't, and the WS-6 muffler that I got from SLP still had the clamp stuck on it when I took it out of the box, if this helps you decide.
