General LSX Automobile Discussion - '01 Z28 roller worth?

I know it's a vague question. There is a local roller, good black leather, good black paint, complete except for the engine and trans. I have an A4 trans, it has the computer, harness and all, an engine would literally drop in this and run. I priced a few engines under 150 miles away and under 75,000 miles on them at $2200-$3000. Obviously it would need a few odds and ends but I have some spare parts too, I have the tools to recharge the a/c, etc.
Does it sound worth $2800 for a clean roller?

yeah def. worth it. throw a motor and trans in that car for 2500 more and you can turn around and sell it for 10k.

I know, but it's not mine.
To give you an idea I could get an engine, I have a built A4, do all the work to put the engine and trans in with a few odds and ends, detail it lightly, and I bet no one would suspect it was a roller at one time. It has been in a garage.
I don't need this I just came accross it and thought it would be neat because I have an '01 with an M6, I could have two, one M6 car and one A4 same color and all.

sounds like with the total price invested it would be worth it. is the title clean?

Title is clean. Never been wrecked either. Not sure of the mileage, I'm going to look at it again tomorrow. It's listed as OBO, I hate to lowball people but it's hard to buy something you really don't need.
The more people here that can help me decide based on my description will help.
I am pretty anal when it comes to judging stuff too, like even down to jack marks under the car, small dings on the quarters the average person doesn't see, etc. It's in very good condition.
