Ive thought about getting the deeper tranny pan. I didnt know if it would help much or not. But a 30 degree drop is a nice drop in temperature with just the deeper pan. I might check into it...

i have a cooler also.. i forget the size since its been like 3 years since i put it on the car. But do to the location of the cooler it never helped much. The FTRA was in the way so i couldnt mount it there.

but temps were in the 190's with the cooler.. and now 160's with deep pan!

I used AMS oil also

Deep pans help, but let's see what your summer temps look like before you jump to conclusions about a 30* drop.

BTW, the cooling comes from more than just having to heat up more oil. The pan has cooling fins to help disapate the heat. That's why I like the aftermarket pans better than a truck pan.

Not to mention the higher cost

I noticed a nice drop in trans temp going to the GM deep truck pan as well. Dropped them about 15-20 degrees on averge. The B&M pan is even bigger and has cooling fins, but the new tranny I bought came with the deep GM pan so I'm just using that
