I just got done driving about 1000 miles on my new 383 lt1. It is a 11.5 to 1 383 forged internals and perfect circle rings. The problem im having is that at idle or even driving it i have steam coming out of my catch can. I made my own catch can with a line coming off each valve cover to help relieve the pressure and to avoid this. Should i be worried or is this common. Also im running your standard dino oil. Any help would be great.

Are you getting any oil in the catch can , does your oil get dark and gassy?

Im not getting any oil in the catch can. It just seems to be steam which causes some moisture to biuld in the can. I think that part of the reason for the moisture is that it is in the 20's and 30's here where i live and with that can getting hot and cold it causes a little condensation. Im getting ready to do a compression check and a leak down test to see if i can find anything there. It just seems that my rings should have seated by now.
