Default race removal???

Hey guys, rebuilding the rear in my SS. whats best way or hows everyone getting the races out of the rearend? also how are you pressing them back into place? I was thinking air hammer but, dont think the bit is long enuff to get in there and pound out the races. last one I did we used a 3/8 extension and wacked away but, damn that was a pain in the *** working off the floor. thanks for any tips and suggestions

Try an air hammer with a blunt end. I've found a few punches for air hammers that were 8" long and these work out great. As for installing them get a long piece of cold roll stock about 3/4 diameter 6-8 inches long and tap the new races in slowly moving left to right and up and down until it seats. I use an old cross pin for the small races.

Thanks Scott, any chance you know of any sponsors/private seller, selling a master install kit for 7.5 10 bolt with Timken bearings? I have checked several places around my house and on here and none specify bearing type.
