Default Help me identify what year is this M6

Hi guys i need some help finding out what year is this t56 . The tag on it says

DLF 13-86 009
*61DLFU018212

There is a casting number on the drivers side it etched in that says

1S2120008

There is also a casting # on the same side that says 13-86-065-902

The trans also says use Dextron II automatic transmission fluid.

The 009 is a 1994 LT-1 T-56.

i was hoping it to be atleast a 94 paid 800 for it with a basic complete conversion. 94 and up is the good years right.

It is good for LT1 applications. If you were looking for an LS1 unit( '98-on), you have some conversion parts to get= Input gear, front adapter, bell hsg.

Yep i am using it in my 95z and i am converting it from a4 to m6.

if u got the 93 tranny those hav lower gearing so it would have been a little better, but then again those are a bit weaker and will break easier

This is not the case because of the part # he has. I'm not sure of the 2.97 gear set # but the 3.36 set box is a 1386-000-006. It is true they handle less torque but this is due to the ratio sets more than it is due to construction.

Or you can wait for Mcleod's new LT-1 housing and not worry about converting anything.
