I suggest you read the sticky up top of the forum... "The real price of forced induction."

It's really up to you. I got a really good deal on my Vortech G trim and only had a lid and catback on my otherwise stock TA. I just finished installing it and couldn't be happier. It's all about risk....running boost hightens the potential for things to break. EX: motor, rear end, etc. Can you still run the blower on your lightly modded car? Absolutely....you just won't be making as much power as those who have stroked forged motors and won't have the peace of mind of those with the right supporting mods. Either way you go, good luck.
Btw, what kind of Vortech kit did you get?

Since cash is a problem run low boost until you have enough money to take more risk with higher boost. Keep it in the low 400 rwhp region and you should be okay.

If you just run a 3.33 or 3.15 blower pulley you should make low enough boost(7-8psi) to be safe, keep the timing low like 15* at WOT and 11.5 AF.

Don't the vortech kits come with a fuel pump? The only other thing you would need is some larger injectors. I wouldn't turn the boost on the stock short block above 8-9 psi anyways.

You need to chance your name now that your '94 has been replaced by a '99. You have a great platform to start with! Bob
