keeping stock exhaust manifolds..which cam?
This is a bracket race car that is driven back and forth approx 40 miles each way. Want a stock appearing engine when I pop the hood but want to run 11.80s..See sig for current mods and performance info. Thanks .

A cam that has any appreciable lope will not work well with stock manifolds. Since the OP is looking for a couple of tenths (at this stage in the game) there are plenty of smaller cams out there that can gain 20-30 hp and still work with manifolds.

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"CheaTR" - 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA. Off Idle-6800 RPM Power Band. Broad power range. Works well with stock exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Stock like idle. Minor tuning required on automatic transmission cars. Responds very well to nitrous. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Double valve springs and titanium retainers required for this cam.

I Contacted Comp Cam Because I Have A 6.0l Lq4 In My 2000 Ss And I Was Wondering What Cam They Recommend For My 6.0l With A Fastlsx W/ 90mm Tb And Stock Exhaust Manifolds And They Said There 224/228 .534/.537 112lsa Cam With Beehive Springs And Roller Rockers For A Great Streetable Street/strip Setup. Im Guessing With The Cam And A Good Tune From Haddad Motorsports I Will Make Well Over 370rwhp And Because Its Already A Torque Monster It Should Make More Then The 374rwtq That It Puts Down Now. Just Call Compcam And Ask. Theyll Hook You Up. Oh And Dont Be Like Everyone Else And Order A Cam From Texas Speed Or Thunderracing, Im Not Saying Those Are Bad But, Think About Your Setup And Remember Compcam Makes Texasspeed, Thunderracing And Lingenfelter Cams.

your not gonna be able to get a cam big enough to run stock manifolds and 11.80's. cnc the heads and mill them and get a little cam as stated above and do lots of suspention and then you will be in the 11's. just my .02's
