Angry Spark Blowout?

I'm having an issue with my ignition the car's mods in sig. Under WOT in the higher RPM's around 6000rpm + the motor sound like its hitting the revlimiter though i know its not i have a autometer tach it reads normal rpm and the limiter is set to 6800 RPM. I have no issues with any missfiring at any other rpm or while normal driving and seems to only happen under WOT. This also seems to happen most of the time in 2nd gear and not very often in 3rd. I think theres about 20K on the opti and wires and plugs have 8K. Running 93 octane all the time. The plugs are gapped at about .050-.055. The car was hitting the revlimiter after the motor build because of the trans, but now its fixed and now this problem is here. So I cant say the problem is new it may have been a problem the whole time. Maby i should try a tighter gap on the plugs... anyone else ever had this problem?

i would start by closing the gap on the plugs to see if it moves the rpm at which it starts to miss higher in the rev range, close them down to about .040 or so and go out for a drive and see what happens

atleast you would be able to rule out something ignition related if it doesn't work

if you were forced induction or nitrous i would say your spark was being blown out but NA cars do not really have that problem....

How old is your coil? An aging or dieing coil will cause this exact symptom.

well its fixed, It was the plugs, I closed the gap to .045 and no more bop bop. Never would have thought something so simple was the problem...
