Default How is the ride on 18's??

So ive seen some pictures of the C6 Z06 wheels on some F bodys and man it looks nice! but ive also heard that the ride you get out of 18's is kinda rough. im thinking about running the 17x9.5 up front and 18x10.5 in the rear what kinda ride do you think that will produce?

i would go 18s all around if youre gonna do 18" in the rear. Honestly they dont ride rough at all as long as you dont go with a real low profile tire. If you go 315/35R18 in th rear and 275/40R18 in the front it will be perfect. They ride as good or better than stock. You cant really tell much of a difference of the ride quality when switching. IMO 17/18" combos dont look god on our cars.

my car rides a little rough but i give blame mostly to the worn out suspension but thats gonna be fixed soon. I have 275/40/18 all around. On sharp turns the fronts do rub a little. oh i have KDW tires.

Why would you need a higher profile on the fronts?

the other tire is a 315, so the side wall will be the same

I never notice a difference when I went to 18's. I have no problems with the way mine rides.

I'm riding on C5 Z06 18s w/ 275/35/18s (front) and 295/35/18s (back). They are nice. Stay with the same wheel size front and back. Just stagger the width for instance wider on the back.

Then I would think the 315's should be a 30 instead of 35 profile and the 275's a 35 profile because isn't a 275 with a 40 profile too tall? I would proabably just leave them both at 35.

you mean too tall for an 18? well a lot of people run that size. i ran a 35 sidewall on my 18x10s front and rear, and it looked just right, especially cause the car is lowered.

Im rolling on 18" wheels in the rear with 295's, and a set of eibach pro kit springs, it rides fine. I just wanna get smaller rims cause i want more meat on my tires

I didnt notice any difference in the ride, maybe alittle smoother with the New tires. I chose to do a taller tire though and went with a 275/40/18 all the way around.

The ride is firmer, but combined with the lowering springs, shocks and fatter sway bars that was what I expected.

Running 18" x 9.5" w/ a 275/35ZR18 front and 18" x 10.5" w/ a 295/35ZR18 rear.

Very happy with that combo.

275/35/18 front, 295/35/18 rear. Rides just like a stocker, when i put my stock wheels back on though turning the front wheels was like butter again, the 18" chrome ones are real heavy, takes a toll on the power steering.

285/35/18 front 305/35/18 rears, hugs the road better, more clearance on speed bumps, and really no other difference.

I have 285/35/18's all around. The tires were already on it when I bought it so I left it otherwise I would have had them at 275 or smaller in the front. Oh well, it rides fine and doesnt rub, and I can rotate them front to back to get a nice even wear.
