Cleaning carbon off pistons

Default Cleaning carbon off pistons

I took apart my extra shortblock and i want to clean the carbon buildup off the pistons. What would i use to do this?

Razor blade and allot of time. Then vacuum everything out of each cylinder.

degreaser brake cleaner! or solvent machine!

Brillo pad (spelling?) and some engine degreaser and WD-40. Came off very fast and didnt mess up the pistons. They were out of the car so this made it easy, but i think you are in the same boat aswell. I did 1 piston to show the flycut and it took about 3 minutes and 2 Brillo pads.

Id use a carb/throttle body cleaner with a rag seeing how it is made to clean carbon deposits off
