05 monte carlo...wont turn off completely HELP

Default 05 monte carlo...wont turn off completely HELP

i have an 05 monte carlo...i know nothing about. enherited from late father...

PROBLEM is it wont turn off completely...the key wont turn all the way left and electronics stay on....

my dad said he would have to reach under the shifter area and "do something" push a button/pull a lever/flip a switch ???? no clue...but i need to find out whats wrong.

already had ignition replaced and still no fix.

help lol

i did a quick google, and saw a few poeple may have had problems with the ignition lock solenoid.
Either that, or there is a button you press in, or something of the like, to remove the key.
Some cars have a switch by the ignition that require you to press it to remove the key.
