Default Times with 10-bolt vs. 12-bolt?

I'm thinking about putting a 12-bolt on my car this summer, but I'm not sure if I want to until I do a cam to make up for some of the power loss from the bigger rear end. If I were to put the 12-bolt on with just my bolt-ons, and not launch any harder than with the 10-bolt, how much time/mph would I lose in the 1/4 by switching? I don't think that the Nittos I'm going to have in a few days should be a real big problem for the rear end, so i don't think I'll actually be able to launch any harder with the 12-bolt, so that won't gain me any time. So at this point it seems like I would just be losing some time and that's it. What do you think?

I doubt you would lose that much to really justify not getting the 12 bolt.

The point is to put a 12 bolt so you can launch it harder, launch it harder it will go faster than with the 10 bolt. The power loss isn't enough to even worry about.

Well, like I said, i was just wondering considering it's probably going to be my tires that are the limiting factor for launching, not the rear end, so I won't gain anything from the launch. So how much power do you actually lose switching to a 12-bolt? I haven't actually heard numbers, I just know there is a little loss.

The DA on that particular race day will have more effect on your times than adding a 12 bolt in lieu of a 10 bolt.

Yeah, that can have a big effect... I know. I ran a 13.1 and a 12.8 on different days with the exact same car.... .

If you're spending 2K on a new rear, why not spend a couple hundred more on some tires so you can launch that bitch.

I'm going to have Nitto 555R's, I just get the impression from people that they aren't the best in the world. Or that I'll already be able to launch as hard as I can anyway and not break anything. lol. After the nitto's though I will probably get something stickier, if I don't fall in love with the nittos for some reason.

10 bolts break easier behind M6s. I say cam it and either run your nittos or slightly better. I think you will be fine for sometime. No point in swapin out a perfectly good ten bolt for a 12 when its not busted. Get as many miles and runs out of it as you can.

In an auto that 10 bolt will last a long time most likely. I got over 500 passes out of mine. 100-200 with high 1.4x - low 1.5x 60's before it finally broke. The nittos won't get you that low on 60 ft so you should be fine for a long time.

your **** is going to break. some have been lucky but that seems like a very few on here. get the new rear now and sell the old one for $200-300 because once it breaks, it won't be worth anything.

i had about 50-70 track passes cutting 2.1-2.2's then spraying(40-135hp) on about half of the passes well beyond 40mph. i never sprayed off the line. a lot of freeway spraying too.
then the rear was on the way out. it did last with spray from about 75k-90k miles but all the spraying was on a roll in an auto. i doubt i put more than 15 bottles through it. more like 10 bottles.
