Once the new cam is in can I just pull the magnets out without having to worry about pulling the lifters up out of the retainers? My magnets are rated at 3.5lb and I know the lifters don't weigh that much. Will the lifters bump into something as I withdraw the magnets keeping the lifters from coming up all the way out of the retainers?

I'm pretty sure you cant remove the lifters without taking the heads off, so I would assume they do hit something.

Just remove the magnets. The lifters are held in place by plastic retainers, they won't hit anything.

Just wiggle them out. The lifters are not going anywhere....
