Chossing coil pack
I'm looking into buying a new coil pack. Since there not very expensive and i can afford a better one. I was wondering if i buy a coil pack with higher voltage then my stock one would i get better feul economy an lil more power out of it.

Probally not...I have an MSD one on my car now. I have a stock 96/97 coil that I am gonna put on when it dies. I have heard the best coil is the stock 96/97 but it will definatly need a different coil wire if you have a 93-95 car.

Everything I have red on the subject shows the stock 96-7 coil throwing as much spark as an aftermarket HEI. Have to consider GM was aiming for better idle emissions and a 100K mile tuneup so the ignitions are pretty good. The 96-7 coil is a little hottrer than the earlier one but even the earlier one is a solid piece and not something I would look to "upgrade" because a lot od supposed "upgrades" are not.
