So far the F1A and the F1R are step for step up to 5200-if we can get the dyno to read correctly to 7000 rpm we may have a 1000 RWHP centri car-through a auto no less! So far we learned that "OVERLAP" is "OVER-EXAGGERATED"! We made more power with a cam that had 81 degrees of overlap versus a cam with 65 degrees of overlap-simply stated if it makes gobs of power N/A, it will make even more once blown! The dip in the curve is where the meth comes in full speed-AFR goes rich so I still have to smooth that out, lean out the car a bit as the AFR hits 10.1!!!!decide on a pulley size and maybe try another cam? I'll be on the phone to Dynojet to see what we can do to get the proper signal out of the coil pack without dropping off!
Then we have a 10 rib setup to try, a new FMIC that should be very efficient and cost efficient as well:thumbs:And a larger By-Pass valve to keep heat down.
All runs are on PUMP 94@METH!

What rpm's did you spin that F1R to? Did you log and compare IAT's between the two blowers?

F1R's pullied to hit 70,000@7000 and the F1A was pullied to hit 75000@7000, temps are the same 65-55 degrees.

Nice job. I like seeing testing like this. It gives people an idea on what works and what doesn't. Post up the specs and what you changed. You're making me want a Procharger setup even more than I already do.

Im glad someone is actually putting the overlap bs to rest. From my experience with imports I argued this a while back after searching my posts and no one agreed.

I am going to be staying with my 233/239 .598 .603 112 LSA cam on my P1SC install. I guess the idea of making more HP with less boost is not ideal for some on this site. The sad part is I guarantee some will still try to argue it. :bang:

an engine is an engine, power adders just add power! boost and juice doesn't change where your intake/heads/cam make power. they just magnify it. and i agree that most people around here dont seem to understand that.

The Aussies have reccomended low LSA cams etc for ages for making power.. The first cam one reccomended to me, was like 24x/24x on 108 !!!! Bit too much for me lol.

But going for long duration, and tight LSA....well, some people like a lot of lope. Others dont.

I prefer a smooth idle whenever possible, as well as making some power.

I don't think turbo setups will follow this notion exactly. Any back-pressure behind the turbine might affect the numbers due to some reversion effects. Good work and thanks for clearing up this old myth.

It costs about a $1.12 a litre, regular is around $1.06 right now.

I also agree that there is more power to be had with a larger cam at less boost.
It all depends on the intended use of the car.
I personally want every possible HP out of my setup, regardless of idle quality.
My setup is more of a dedicated race car that is street(able) though.

244/250 112 versus 238/246 114, 17 degrees of overlap change and no boost change. I will be trying another cam with a DCR geared towards NA and smaller with overlap around 59 degrees-see what happens.

It's a 402 with AFR 225 heads as far as I remember.
