Default New LT1

Ok I used to be a LS1 guy but I just bought a 95 z28 but Im trying to figure out whats going on with it but hey for 1000 bucks i figure im in a win win situation. Well first big problem my OBD II is not reading with the scanner second my tranny wont down **** and it seems like its short shifting I think its been built and it diffently has a stall shift kit. Also dont know if it has anything to do with it but the speedo is off and I think its got gears. Also it seems the motors been built sounds like it has a lobe to it also lokking around I found some bolt ons like headers and Adjustable Fuel Regulator and CAI. Also it dosent seem it misses but it seems kinda slugish throttle response but the torq is there.

obd2 will not work because 95 is obd1 but with the later connector.

Yea, they made it goofy and threw on OBDII connectors on OBDI cars. Same with my friend's Vette in 94, confused us for awhile.

If an OBDI scanner doesn't read anything, I would definitely send in the PCM to PCM for Less and have it tuned, because it sounds like it's not.

Welcome to the world of the underdog, who still manage to kick ***

I cant believe you did not ask the previous owner for information on it. I wouldnt have bought a car without asking. OR... if you bought it from a dealer, once you get the title get ahold of the previous owner and find out.

I just bought me a 94 for $700 bucks and finally got the engine running well. It was feeling sluggish as you are describing. Here's what I did...
new fuel filter
new plugs & wires & air filter
the catalytic converter was busted up on the inside and partially melted, gutting that helped remove 90% of the sluggishness
the last thing I did was put a new map sensor on and that made the car run much better

Hopefully some basic maintenance will help yours run better
