LT-1 to LS-1 T56 Swap

LT-1 to LS-1 T56 Swap
a buddy of mine bought a 66,000 mile '97 Z-28 wrecked to put the motor
in his impala.
my car is an automatic that needs a rebuild and i had a cam change planned.
my cam plans were not on the big side at all. i do not think i would be happy with a 3000rpm stall or bigger on a daily driver, but a 6 speed and some 3:73s the standard 224\224 cam sounds like a good plan.
so if i do this motor swap for him i'm going to be able to pick the rest of the car clean.
so here is the question:
LT-1 to LS-1 swap T-56
what parts for the conversion? i will have the complete '97 Z-28 so pedal assembly, console ect. is covered.
so i'm thinking i will need a bell housing and flywheel. the master and slave will have too be from an '01 or newer? or will this work at all
what posi unit did the '97s have?
any one that has been down this road before please chime in.

The length of the input shaft is different, (LT is about a 1/2" shorter). Also, the pivot point for the clutch master cylinder is slightly lower on the LT pedals. An adjustable master might fix this but I would look for some LS pedals. You will need new hydraulics - master and slave. It's not to cheap to do the conversion from LT to LS t56 and a lot of people just sell the LT trans and pick up an LS t56
