Default Converter make car slower form a roll????

hey guys i procharged my ta, when i had stock trans it hated to shift (kept bouncing off the rev limiter) now that i have my tci 3000 and freshley built tranny it seems slower from a roll??? when i raced my buddies modded 06 goat with stock trans i would pull a car right off the bat, bounce off the rev limiter for a couple seconds shift and pull 5 or 6 more, now were damn close from a 60 roll until i hit top of third when boost comes on hard..... any ideas???

It sounds to me like your tune may be off, it certainly should not be slower out of the hole.
Boost should also be coming in hard much sooner than 3rd gear. Bob

You do need to adjust the tune on A4 cars when you change the stall of the converter. When I changed from a 3200 to 3800 stall converter, my car ran a bit worse until I got my tune adjusted.

Yep, what Bob said. With a bigger stall the car should be flashing right into it's power curve now & SHOULD be faster than before. Unless it's blowing thru the converter.....doesn't act like it's slipping does it?

I had a 3400 stall which I didn't care for. I now run a 2600 and love the way it hits from a roll. I would think the cam is critical to matching the converter so the power band and stall compliment each other.

My 3200 stalled 700R4 did this. No tune to fix it. It was awesome with the 2800 stall but with the 3200 it fell on its face at WOT on a roll.
