Benefits of Strange: Stock sized axle tubes (no customization for swaybar brackets or zip-tying brake lines)
Both have been known to have some whine. Some people have had problems with the Moser's pinion seal leaking. I've seen a lot of complaints about the 30-spline posi in the strange (US Gear), but their 33 spline (Eaton) seems to be pretty good. Moser uses Eaton for both their 30 and 33 spline.
My Moser whines, especially at 50-60mph, but they don't set up the gears too well (it may be better to get a Moser disassembled and have someone put it together to set it up quiet if you go that route). I liked the fact that Moser made their own reluctor rings for the axles (4 channel ABS w TCS), since otherwise Strange wanted my stock rings and my car would have been down for 4 weeks.

Another downside to the Moser 12 bolt is the torque arm mount. It uses 4 bolts instead of 2 like the stock one does. Many people have problems with the 4 bolts loosening up and breaking torque arm.
im thinking strange just to be diffrent and it will be a 33 spline. still here to many problems with the moeser from what i here unless someone can sell me on a moeser. i'm open and don't have a problem saving 300.00 bucks
Strange here, #1 IMO. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

my moser leaks and whines. but i couldn't have my car down for the 4 weeks required when getting a strange. if you have the time and don't mind the extra cash, you should get a strange.

I have installed both.
Personally after seeing them I like the strange better for a few reasons.
strange benefits..
1. already assembled and been tested to see if everything is ok.
2. Fitment is better
3. Do not have to reuse stock backing plates already assembled and installed.
4. Gear setup better
Moser benefits
1. a bit cheaper
2. arrives faster
I run a moser 9" and it is nice but I would only use moser for the 12 bolts for these reasons. If you were pinched seriously for money or in a major rush (car just puked rearend and must have on in a week or so.)

i have a question on the torque arm setup on the rearends i was told by strange that the 12 bolt rearend has the torque arm mounting boss molded into the center section casting. how are the moser torque arms mounted on the rearend. i wish i could see a moser and a strange

Love my moser. no whine or leakage. I've heard of too many Strange rears breaking. I don't remember of a Moser breaking yet.

I have a Strange. It's great! I've seen both rearends. I have personally seen the screws on moser rearends back out! Not good in my opinion. I'd spend the extra money for a little piece of mind.

My moser whines between 55-60mph but other than that it was fine, pinion angle even stayed the same and I did not need to adjust my panhard rod.

I have a Moser 12-bolt, which is way more popular, therefore you will hear more good and Bad things about it.
As far as whining goes, it's all in the setup. A Strange rearend may be setup better, but you can get a Moser setup perfectly and it acts like a stock rear. I've ridden in other cars with Moser's but I haven't had any experience with the Strange's yet.
Bolts backing out...use locktite and when you go back the bolts out to swap torque arms or whatever, you'll have hell.
What do you like better, peas or carrots?

I got the Strange 12 Bolt not to long ago and so far I've very happy with it. Granted I'm still in the breakin period, but so far this thing feels very crisp and there's no gear whine what-so-ever. Very exceptable street manors, but has that solid feel which gives you the confidence you want when launching anything over 350rwtq.
Good luck with your choice.

I really like my Moser with spool & 4.30's, it's actually quieter than my stock with 4.10's. I haven't hit it with 1.4 60's yet, so we'll see. But it's perfect so far.
