Default Stock Fbody LT1 combustion chamber size

Just looking around a couple boards looking for stock fbody LT1 combustion chamber info and finding conflicting numbers. Heck right here on the Ultimate LT1 newbie faq its listed as 54cc on the basic specs page and then 58cc on the compression ratio page. ??? go figure. Did it change over the years?

I have also seen it listed at 54 and 58. I *think* it's 58mm, but I'm not sure.

This lists it here as 54cc.. Comparing the LT1 Chamber to the LT4 Chamber..

"Combustion chambers are almost identical with a negligible .4cc increase in volume for the LT4 Combustion chambers at 54.4cc's."

I have a 93 Camaro head and it cc'd to ~54

I think earlier years MAY have been smaller since I also measured one from a later model and it was ~58. BUT since I have no idea if either was shaved who knows.

I have measured a couple iron they were both 64.

Default 54cc

My unported heads are 54cc. The ported heads have been opened up a bit and measure about 55.5cc.

I would say 54cc is really close for a stock head.

I have had probably 6-700 ltx castings on my bench in the last 13 years. Chambers run between 53.2 and 59.2 in factory form. The late 94 early 95 castings seem to be the best. Find someone to put the burret to the task and you will know for sure!
