I think your first issue will be torque arm clearance. We've put one in a viper with a glide but, i've never seen one in an f body.

I have one on my car...there is no TA clearance issues unless you have a front DS loop built into the TA (a la spohn). I had to cut my front DS loop off...

I'll look to see if I can find some pictures.

I would have thought you would need at least a short mount TA and a really short DS.

How do you like the GV unit driving around and at the track?

Thanks for the info. Phate did you get better 1/4 mile time after you installed it. If you have some pic's that would be great.I have a BMR TA on mine will that make any difference on clearance than the sophn.

Are you aware of what those units cost?

Phate might be able to fill you in on that, but I know they definitely aren't cheap.

To tell you the truth, after things went together I ended up changing combinations and the car has been sitting a while. I am planning to ship it off and get it finished, but that is maybe 3-4 months out.

So, no track impressions with the GV...but it works as advertised and you can set it in auto mode so that it clicks on @ 50 or so or use it in manual mode.

The driveshaft is REALLY short, I had my Denny's re-sized to fit and it works well. Not sure how the BMR TA is different then the Spohn unit, so I can't comment as to issues there. Sorry that I can't offer more info...but the install was actually pretty simple and pain free.

You want a tough trans and OD go with a built 4L80e. I looked at the gear vendor until I read about the 4L80e.

+1 on the built 4l80e. If your set on this route, my uncle has one of these that he used behind a muncie 4 speed (not sure if same as th400), in a 67 chevelle. It probably doesnt even have 1500 miles on it (it still wasnt enough OD for him and the 07 power tour).

Muncie is a manual transmission.
