Default Stock shifter vs. Factory Hurst

I made some before and after throw measurements for anyone contemplating a shifter swap. I used a Hurst Chrome stick on both bases and the 1-2 shift travels six inches with the stocker and four inches with the factory Hurst (which is essentially a Hurst C/P unit). The 2-3 shift is as smooth as silk. They are quality shifters and readily available used. I paid $24 shipped for the Hurst base from a guy who "upgraded" his WS6to a Hurst. The stick I had leftover from a long ago 4-speed. All in all a significant improvement for not much money or time.

Cool. I was wondering how much of a difference it was. I've got a factory Hurst right now. It's just sitting in my back seat. I'm waiting on the shifter gaskets to get here, to put it in and test it out. Mine came with the Hurst chrome stick on it, but, I'll probably end up using my WS6Store short stick on it.
