what would make an SS a factory freak?

Very high dyno numbers, breaking 12s in the 1/4. Basically going beyond the expectations of the average fbody.

my friend's 01 fomula Stock everything ran an 8.3 in the 1/8 with a crappy reaction time and what did he do? he sold it the very next month

No its the same, just some motors are better then others and make more power. My buddy had a factory freak high 12's bone stock

I bought my car new in 02. Hit 700 miles went to the track and ran 13.1. Bone stock ,2002 SS Camaro 6m.

Even though in theory every engine should be the same power (and most are very close to each other), some end up making more than others. Engines are built within certain tolerances and some engines get lucky and have parts that fit tighter and work together better. The extra power obviously makes the car a little faster and those cars are considered "factory freaks" because they perform better than average.

Just FYI, not trying to be a dick. Reaction time has nothing to do with ET. The timer starts after you break the beam.

i think my buddy has one! from a dig i get him until about 3rd gear cuz he cant launch, but from a roll he pulls a few cars on me, and we basically have the same mods!

I think the term factory freak is overused by a lot, All 01-02s dyno pretty much the same. I think with cars that are now almost 10 years old they just aren't new anymore so it elevates the ones that are still running the same as when new.
Maybe I'm just sick of everyone calling my car that....
