Will this engine combo work alright?
LS6 cam
stock heads milled .040"
Comp R lifters
7.4" pushrods
Yella Terra rockers
I know that they will all work together, I'm concerned about the pushrod length, the heads milled, and the zero lash deal on the R lifters. Will there be any intake sealing problems with that mill? Will those pushrods be alright? Cam is .050" smaller base circle then stock (correct?), heads are milled .040", so my pushrods will still be .010" short then perfect (I think). I'm worried about the R lifters picking up the extra slack and if the shims in the Yella Terras will help me out. Any ideas? Thanks everyone!

I am running Comp R lifters without any problems, but then again my heads are not milled as much as yours nor do I have YT rockers.

if the LS6 cam is like most aftermarket cams, its base circle is 0.030" smaller than the stock LS1 cam so with the heads being milled 0.040" should make the pushrods 0.010" too long....
0.010" either way (too short/too long) is easily within the lifters ability to adjust.....don't worry about it....
I assume your milling to up CR....if so, just buy some 5.3 heads and have them worked over...it will come out better....

Re: Will this engine combo work alright?
Okay, here is what I've found by searching.
Cam is .030" smaller (SDPC says .050")
Heads are shaved .040"
Thunder pushrods are .015" longer then stock
That makes my pushrods .025" too long. The Comp R lifters need .030" to .040" less preload then stock ones. The Yella Terra shims will act like the pushrods are longer. So, I should be good with 7.4" pushrods, right? BTW, longer pushrods=less preload, right?
