Anybody try these yet??? (Steering wheel controls)
I ordered them over just replacing the old burnt out bulbs for 2 reasons. 1- A couple of my clickers on each module were fucked. 2- These modules use LED's. So, chances are they'll last for a long *** time.
Picked these up the other day for $46. They should be here in a few days. I'll let you guys know how they are, when i get them. Any body else have these and like them???
Here's the description, along w/ a pic. ->
The 1997-2000 Grand Prix, Firebird, Steering Wheel Switch Rebuild Kit is uniquely designed to directly replace the OEM circuit boards found in the steering wheel switch modules. As with many aging Grand Prixs, Firebirds, the OEM steering switch modules suffer from failing button switches or backlighting lamps have burned out. The replacement circuit boards are an improvement in a number of ways. The switches used have a higher tactile force to provide a much better 'click' feel to the steering buttons. The replacement boards integrate an LED light directly under each button (3 on each board) in place of just one incandescent light bulb found on the OEM boards. By directly illuminating each button, button illumination is superior. Also, the LEDs used have superior longevity over the incandescent lamps. These replacement switchs will likely outlast the vehicle in most cases.

^^^ I found these on ebay. I've seen them go for as cheap as $30. There's also the manufacturers website, but they sell them for $69. So, im sayin keep an eye on ebay, unless you dont mind spending a little extra.
If anybody's interested, let me know and i'll pass on the ebayer and/or direct website.

i fixed mine for under 10 bucks at radio shack... they are VERY bright.
i don;t quite see the reason in spending that type of money... the existing board can accept an LED it you were so inclined.
i just replaced them with incandescent bulbs.

you can paint the bulbs, buy bulb covers, or go to radioshack and get red LEDs

I've fixed mine twice, in the 7 years i've had the car. 4 of my clickers were fucked, which isnt a big thing, but it bothered me... I have no idea how to fix those.
Seriously, $46 bux alot of money???

I don't..Not everyone is into soldering..I'm not..for the amount of time involved,I'd rather spend the $40,hell even $80 bucks to just get it done..I'm not running all over finding the led's..Some people just get off on doing it yourself..Some things are worth it,some aren't..
