Default Fuddle converters: Good or Bad?

How do they rate next to Yank or Vig, .....?

they seem to have good warranys and a good price..

Mine is still going strong and I'm happy with it but make no mistake that Vig and Yank make excellent converters.

i have heard stories go either way...they back up their warranty and have good customer from the threads i have read on here, but I have seen many people switch to yank or vig, because they break the fuddle one too many times or just want the proven name (i mean that in a good way)...

stick with vig or yank!! the circle D stuff looks good too.. i wouldnt run fuddle or TCI even if u paid me..

Plenty of miles and a few track passes on mine, holding up fine.
You have to know what you want and ask for it since it's build
to request and three different models. I got what I wanted, for
~ half the price of the big boys, who didn't make what I wanted.

Do you know what you want? If not, you might want to buy off
the shelf based on advice. If you want it -your- way, then the
Fuddle route might be for you.

If you want the best then get a Vig or a Yank. If you want the best bang for the buck then get a Fuddle or a TCI. Every company mentioned has success stories and every one has horror stories. But for quality, effiency and longevity I would personally go with Yank. One of the basic facts of life IMO is this:

The best isn't cheap and if it's cheap then it isn't the best.

Now of course I mean brand new and from a vendor or a store. But you can plug in anything and it should apply. TV's, radios, shoes, pants, shirts, jewelry and in this case torque converters. Some may argue with me on this and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion. But I will still stand by the old saying of "you get what you pay for".

I'm not bashing Fuddle or TCI. My TCI has done me very well for 2+ years. For the money spent I got a good value. But looking forward to my next converter I want to go with a Yank SS4000.

agreed!! another thing, is since our trannies are somewhat suspect, why would u want to put in a cheap verter? go with the proven vig and yank!

I have replaced a ton of fuddles. All had lock up clutch fialures and or bearing fialures. I will not install them anymore.

I agree with you,and my TCI3500 is been flawless for over 3years,but when I step up it will be a yank,but I say PT4000

I had a Fuddle in mine with absolutely ZERO converter issues. Definately a great bang for the buck. A Yank is going to get more feedback but it is a proven performer with more years to back it up. It all depends on how much you want to spend. An exaggerated comparison would be like, what do you want to drive-Ferarri or Corvette?

To be honest, this is my 2nd fuddle.. the 1st one I had worked good for my stock power. Then when I added h/c and the juice I upgraded. Both worked awesome for me.

I've heard good and bad. I do disagree that vig and yank are the best though. I went through two vig verters already and they are good and yank is even better but I would have to say Neil Chance verters are the best and the service is top notch too. That is all I will use now. Not bashing on any others just my opinion. Vig and yank are still good verters.

Not sure if its hit or miss, but I've had my fuddle for about 2yrs with no problems whatsoever. Its worked really well for me.

That's a crappy comparison. It's more like a Corvette to a 95 mustang GT.

Yes, plenty of people run Fuddle without a problem. Plenty of people have converter failures too. How often do you see VIG or Yank converters fail AT ALL, let alone in bolt-on cammed cars like Fuddles do.

If you want a Fuddle, more power to you, but I recommend you look up the thread on here that show you the difference internally between modified stock converters like fuddle or TCI and actually fabricated units like Yank or VIG. That will make your decision for you and you will feel educated as to why you made the decision you did
