Converter Reccomendation
New to the Ls1 world and wanted to get a reccomendation on a converter.
1st-I drive 150 miles A DAY to and from work. 2nd-the car has 2.73 and I may change to a 3.23, but no more then that, most likely leave in whats in.
All for a nearly stock car, just the simple bolt ons..
My buddy had a Yank 2800, it ripped out of the hole and seemed to lock up tight. So I was leaning that way but wanted to get another opinion. If I went with a 2800, will it cook the tranny since I drive so far???

I don't see you taking that stock tranny too deep into the RPM range often.. I think that a tight converter like you mentioned would be too detrimental long term.
Good Luck with it.

You have to remember once you get into lockup (40mph) the trans is no longer slipping, the motor and trans are at a 1:1 ratio just like stock. Get a SS3600 and enjoy!!

I daily drove a 4400 lockup converter with bolt ons and 2.73s. Once it locked up it was amazing. It was definately to stout for the avergae person I'd imagine, however, do not waste your money and buy anything less than a 3500 stall. I'd agree with the others, Yanks SS3600
