That was one of the reasons they quit making the f-body, I think. Didn't meet side impact standards for 2003.

They did fix it, just taken a little while.....

The recall said it only affected 897 units, and they began the notification letters in Dec. '01. So that rules out it being the reason for halting production, and any car made in late '01 to the end of production.
